Herbals cures to combat fatigue

Coffee is the strongest natural form of caffeine. However, coffee is addictive and drinking more than three cups a day could lead to problems such as jangled nerves and diarrhea.

Other sources of caffeine include colas, tea, cocoa, and South-American beverages such as yerba mate. Although tea has comparatively lesser caffeine, it contains more of Theophylline, which in its pure form, is used to treat Asthma. Like caffeine, it causes nervousness, insomnia and increased heart rate.

However, in cases of stress-induced fatigue, which could lead to loss of sleep at night an exhaustion during the day, folk practitioners prescribe variety of herbal relaxants, including valerian and lavender.

Black Tea: A cup of black tea contains about 30mg of caffeine. About two doses (60mg) of this tea act as a stimulant increasing activity of central nervous system. The tea can be prepared by pouring a cup of boiling water over one and a half teaspoon of black tea leaves. Allow it to steep for five minutes. Strain and drink.

Valerian: It is a sleeping aid which has been in use for more than 2000 years now, and has been helpful in treating stress-induced fatigue. Pour one cup of boiling water to ½ to 1 teaspoon of minced fresh roots, or mix a few drops of valerian extract or tincture into a glass of warm water. This makes a good bedtime tea. However, it is not advisable to be used for longer than two weeks.

Lavender: The herb has been well-known as a calmative. The dried flowers or an extract of the herb can be added to warm bath water, just prior to bed time. The oil too can be dabbed on to the temples before bedtime.

The Herbals Cream For Acne

The herbals cream for acne can be made at home using natural ingredients or can be bought at a pharmacy. The problem with Herbals remedies for acne is that they can be expensive if given inaccurate information or misinformed about what products will actually work on a skin disorder. These topical lotions can eliminate acne but may cost anywhere from twenty to fifty dollars depending on how quickly results are predicted to be. When looking at ways to solve a skin problem, a realistic approach is necessary. An acne problem can easily be solved in a cost effective way, but if low on funds, make sure to find Herbals remedies for acne that are oil free. This will be extremely important in controlling the skin disorder altogether. When deciding to use a natural therapy solution, the sufferer must first start from the inside out. Concentrate on eating more fruits and vegetables. That will improve the skin and prepare the face to supplement with the topical lotion.

In making a topical lotion, one can find several recipes that work. A popular recipe will involve bananas and avocados as well as some vitamin E ointment. This is one of the best Herbals remedies for acne. All a maker needs to do is put a teaspoon of vitamin E ointment in a blender (not putting too much in because otherwise the Herbals cream for acne is going to be too oily.) Vitamin E is able to bring acne to the surface so that the topical cream can cleanse and eliminate the dirt. Once the Vitamin E ointment is put in the blender, follow with the avocados. Once the two of these ingredients are in the blender together, they should be blended thoroughly. Once the avocados and Vitamin E ointment has been adequately combined, the maker will want to add bananas to the mix. The facial cream is complete once all ingredients are mixed together and can be placed on the surface area of the skin. The downside with using a substance like this is that the lotion can only be used once. After a couple days it is going to go bad.

When mixing a homemade topical lotion that is not going to go bad, non perishable items need to be substituted. Herbals remedies for acne such as oatmeal is a more common natural therapy because of the amount preservation time oatmeal holds. This will make a great Herbals cream for acne without having to worry about it going bad really fast. Mixing oatmeal with vitamin E ointment and water, the maker will find that it makes a great first time facial, but it will also work as a skin disorder topical lotion. The thing about oatmeal is that it will exfoliate the skin without a lot of problems. In making this remedy, the sufferer will find that this is a great way to help an acne problem without costing a lot of money. After all, most people keep oatmeal in their house. This cream is a great way to use an all natural product without a lot of hassle. However, the fastest acting natural therapy is going to come in the product of tea. Plants can have a lot to do with making natural leaves work the absolute best.

Of course, the best source of relief is through faith in the Lord and prayer. Before trying any natural solution to heal a bodily disorder, a Christian should pray for guidance and have faith that God will provide an answer. "Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea Lord. Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you. And their eyes were opened" (Matthew 9:28-30). When trying to choose the best of the best Herbals remedies for acne, a wise sufferer will use green or black tea. Both of these have great antitoxins that will also help the body. In fact, simply putting green or black tea bags on the face can work quite rapidly. But, when wanting to make Herbals cream for acne out of green or black tea, the maker will simply be able to add it to a cream that is already in use. The sufferer can take the oatmeal cream and use that. However, the choice can also be made to buy a cheaper pre-made topical lotion and then add the black or green tea. Either way, the skin disorder sufferer will be able to see benefits on their face very quickly. The best Herbals remedies should be what can make each person feel comfortable without any problems. Green tea has been proven to be the most soothing and has the highest success rate.

Ginsing side effects

Ginsing side effects are few. According to studies that have been done with various animals, there do not seem to be any short or long term effects of taking ginsing. It is a shame that animals were used to make these conclusions after this herb has been used for centuries in countries all across the globe. The money could have been used for studies with humans already taking the herbs, for example, or put into an herbal health education program.

Anyway, ginsing does not seem to be carcinogenic either, which in our world today, seems like an exception to the rule. Some rare reports show that ginsing can raise blood pressure and increase heart rate if taken in very large quantities. However, it is possible that these effects along with reports of sleeplessness or excitedness could be caused by the caffeine that is often included in diluted preparations of the herb.

Herbal Supplement May Prevent Prostate Cancer

Columbia University Medical Center has launched the first clinical trial of a possible herbal preventative for prostate cancer. The Phase I study will determine whether Zyflamend®, an herbal supplement commonly used as an anti-inflammatory, can prevent prostate cancer in patients with prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia (PIN).

PIN is a clinical precursor for prostate cancer. Without intervention, men diagnosed with PIN have a 50 to 70 percent likelihood of developing prostate cancer. Although there are tools that detect the early signs of prostate cancer, such as PIN or elevated prostate specific antigen (PSA) levels, there is no consensus as to the optimal therapy for these patients.

"Zyflamend has shown an ability, in vitro, to reduce prostate cancer cell proliferation by as much as 78 percent and to induce cancer cell death or apoptosis," says Aaron E. Katz, M.D., associate professor of urology at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, Director of the Center of Holistic Urology at Columbia University Medical Center and principal investigator of the study. "These results are exceptionally promising and have led us to initiate this clinical trial."

The herbal supplement, made by New Chapter, Inc., is composed of 10 herbs which inhibit the cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inflammation pathway. Long-term chronic inflammation contributes to carcinogenesis in many organ systems (the origin of certain cancers); inhibiting this pathway appears to be key to preventing cancers like prostate and colon cancer. An herbal supplement such as this herbal supplement may inhibit this pathway without causing the adverse gastrointestinal side effects associated with the long-term use of other COX-2 inhibitors. The preparation of this herbal supplement differs from many herbal products in that it is not standardized to isolated chemicals. It delivers herbs in concentrated form, but the herbs retain their "food" status.

"We know more people are using herbal supplements as either their primary treatment or in tandem with their prescribed therapies, which is why it is important to study the safety and efficacy of herbal therapies," said Mark Blumenthal, founder and executive director of the non-profit American Botanical Council. "This study is an important step in a new direction for therapy in this area and holds much promise for millions of men with challenges in prostate health."

The Study

The Phase I study will evaluate the safety and tolerability of the herbal supplement in patients with PIN. Up to 48 men, between the ages of 40-75, will receive the herbal supplement three times a day for 18 months.

PIN and Prostate Cancer

PIN means that the top layer of cells or epithelial cells of the prostate are dividing more rapidly than normal epithelial cells. This development of pre-cancerous, abnormal tissue of the prostate gland puts men at high risk of developing prostate cancer.

Prostate cancer is a group of cancerous cells (a malignant tumor) that begins most often in the outer part of the prostate. It is the most common type of cancer (excluding skin cancer) diagnosed in American men. In 2003, an estimated 220,900 new cases of prostate cancer were diagnosed in the United States.

The Herbal Supplement

Zyflamend includes rosemary, turmeric, ginger, holy basil, green tea, hu zhang, Chinese goldthread, barberry, oregano, and Baikal skullcap.

Located in New York City, Columbia University Medical Center provides international leadership in basic and clinical research, medical education, and health care. The medical center includes the dedicated work of many physicians, scientists, and other health professionals at the College of Physicians & Surgeons, the School of Dental & Oral Surgery, the School of Nursing, the Mailman School of Public Health, the biomedical departments of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, and allied research centers and institutions. Herbals: Scabies Remedies and Treatment

find use herbals for health
Scabies is a contagious skin disease caused by a mite called Sarcoptes scabeii. A skin condition caused by tiny mites that burrow under the skin, producing small red bumps and severe itching. The mites easily spread from person to person, especially among people who share close living spaces. The treatment is usually with a topical cream or shampoo. In Australia the treatment is changed on a yearly basis to counteract development of resistance.

With first time infections it generally takes 4-6 weeks for symptoms to appear. For those who have had previous infections, the symptoms can appear within days. Scabies is a contagious disease which is spread via towels, linen, clothing and poor hygeine so it extremely important to practice good hygeine at all times to prevent cross infection. Washing all clothing, towels etc on hot wash will help to kill off any bacterium present and prevent it from recurring. Do not be tempted to share towels or bed linen with anyone you suspect of having Scabies as this could only re-infect you again.

Diagnosis is most commonly made by looking at the burrows or rash. A skin scraping may be taken to look for mites, eggs, or mite fecal matter to confirm the diagnosis. If a skin scraping or biopsy is taken and returns negative, it is possible that you may still be infested. Typically, there are fewer than 10 mites on the entire body of an infested person; this makes it easy for an infestation to be missed.

The treatment kills the mites, but their bodies are still in the skin and as it is this that we are allergic to, the itch persists until our own natural defense systems break down and get rid of what is left of the mites. This process takes about two weeks and therefore the itch continues for about two weeks after the treatment.

You need close skin-to-skin contact with an infected person to catch scabies. The mites live in skin but die after a short time if they are away from the skin.

Most cases are probably caught from holding hands with an infected person. The hand is the most common site to be first affected. Sleeping in the same bed, and sexual contact are other common ways of passing on the mite.

Sometimes outbreaks of scabies occur in nurseries or residential homes where people are in close contact. Head remedy; itching with burning or soreness after scratching Sulphur 3X or 6X, 4 hourly. Pustular eruptions; specially on bends of elbows; itching worse from heat and at night Sulphur 30X and Mercurius Sol.30X, 4 hourly (alternatively). With soreness in folds of skin; involuntary urination while coughing or walking; better in humid climate Causticum 30X or 200X 4 hourly. Eruptions on bends of knees; pustular with burning and itching; better by warmth Arsenic Alb.30X or 200X, 4 hourly (3 Doses)

First you need to get an acurate diagnosis and then get some prescription medicine to take of whatever is going on.

Get lice shampoo and put it on your body before going to bed and then wash it off the next morning. You man need to do this a few nights but it works. Anyone who is diagnosed with scabies, as well as his or her sexual partners and persons who have close, prolonged contact to the infested person should also be treated. If your health care provider has instructed family members to be treated, everyone should receive treatment at the same time to prevent reinfestation.

Insure life:Can Intake of Herb Borage Herb Really Affect your Breast Size?

Breast enlargement supplement usually contain herbs (like Borage Herb), with natural estrogenic properties from plant sources (phyto-estrogens) that work by regulating hormones and promote healthy tissue growth.

Estrogen is what causes the breasts to grow at puberty. There are many chemical and environmental toxins that can mimic estrogens and attach to the receptor sites also. The plant nutrients will help to wash these out of the system and increase the health of the breast tissues.

One of most commonly used herb in breast enhancement dietary supplements is Borage Herb. The whole plant is rough with white, stiff, prickly hairs. It can grow to a height of about 18 inches, and spread about 12 inches. It is a native of northern Europe, and grows well in the temperate regions of North America.

Diuretic, demulcent, emollient. It is a tonic plant for the adrenal glands therefore borage provides a very useful support for a stressful lifestyle. However, intake of Borage Herb alone may not be that effective, unless it is combined synergistically with other similar herbs that contain phytoestrogens. And not all phytoestrogens give the same effectiveness to affect your breast size.
So, where can one find the herb that gives the best phytoestrogens? Or does it exist in the first place?

Studies have shown that Pueraria Mirifica as one of the best phytoestrogen you can find. What makes Pueraria Mirifica the best Phytoestrogen? How is it different from Borage Herb?

Pueraria mirifica is an indigenous herb of Thailand, known in Thai as "Kwao Kreu" or "Kwao Kreu Kao" (White Kwao Kreu). It belongs to the FamilyLeguminosae, subfamily Papilionoideae or the soy, bean & pea subfamily, The plants are commonly found in abundant in the forests in the north, the west and the northeast of Thailand at the altitude of 300-800 meters above sea level, Active principles in this plant are found in the tuberous root, which looks like chain of round-shaped bulbs of various sizes connected to the next one via small root throughout the entire length of the root. The shape and size of the tuberous root are diverse depending on the environment in which it exists. Its uniqueness lies in the fact that phytoestrogen "Miroestrol" and "Deoxymiroestrol" can only be found in Pueraria Mirifica!

"Miroestrol and Deoxymiroestrol " is very different from other phytoestrogens found in other plants such as Borage Herb. It posses highest estrogenic activity among the known phytoestrogens due to structural similarity to Estradial. Estradiol is the main human estrogen which can be found in all women who are at the stage of nursing baby (Lactating); as you may notice that all women who are in this stage, their breast will enlarge and gain firmness for feeding purpose. This is the main reason why Pueraria Mirifica is unique from other breast enhancement herbs such as Borage Herb.

Women in the rural communities in Thailand where this herb grows have used the tuberous roots of Pueraria Mirifica effectively as "rejuvenating" folk medicine for well over a hundred years, before it becomes well known and has received much attention from Thai and foreign scientists and mainstream alike not so many years ago.

The above information on Pueraria Mirifica is found in Ms Yvonne Lee, internationally acclaimed book "To All Women Who Want To Enhance Their Breasts Naturally, But Don't Know How To Start". It describes and details the most important breast enhancement techniques from every corner of the world. Author Yvonne Lee, provides an unbiased pro-and-con analysis of each technique, in addition to practical information such as how and

Herbal Remedies Vs. Conventional Medicine

There are two main philosophies around the treatment of illnesses. The conventional approach looks at disease as the actual problem, whereas the holistic approach, which utilizes herbal remedies, sees the disease as an outcome of systems dysfunctioning within the body. In conventional medicine, the illness is treated as a series of symptoms seen as a result of the illness that unfortunately occurred within the body. Medicinal treatments function to soothe these symptoms and enable management of the disease. Unfortunately, these “medicines” are wrought with negative and uncomfortable side effects. This is because treatment usually involves poisoning and killing the bad bacteria, cells, mold, or whatever that has been identified as bringing on the illness. However, this also means that the good cells, bacteria, and so on, which are the very components most needed during illness, are also killed, casualties of the treatment. The result is that such treatments further weaken the systems within the body, leaving it even more susceptible to illness, which often create a vicious downward spiral of illness followed by treatment, followed by more illness, and possibly death.

Another philosophy, the holistic approach, uses natural healing methods, including herbal remedies, which enable the body to heal itself. The practitioner doctor looks at the body as a whole, viewing all systems working harmoniously together to run the amazing machine that is our body; this is where the word “holistic” comes from. When there is a breakdown within one or more systems, the doctor looks for the cause of the breakdown, such as the body being exposed to too much continued stress and over-tiredness, resulting in a shortage of certain vitamins or minerals, all which contribute to the system lacking the materials needed to run efficiently. Herbs can be chosen to add needed vitamins and minerals to gradually and gently balance deficiencies within the body. The above is just a simple example of how herbal remedies can be incorporated into care. In many cases, herbal remedies can be used to augment specific areas within the body. An example would be the body suffering from an invasive virus causing cold or flu. Eating large amounts of raw garlic will quickly stop the virus in its tracks. This is because garlic, called the number one antibiotic for herbs, contains allicin, a strong antibiotic agent, and sulphur compounds, which strengthen the immune system as well as fight infection. An antibiotic remedy, called the “Enhanced Garlic Formula”, calls for 1 part each of garlic powder and powdered calcium ascorbate (form of vitamin C) mixed with ¼ part Cayenne powder (L. Thomas, 1992).

One of the benefits around the use of herbal remedies is there are almost never any negative side effects, when used correctly. Carefully chosen herbs work gently on the body, and are not intrusive. Also, because it is natural, herbs tend to complement the body’s systems, instead of working or fighting against them. Herbal remedies can be used as both a preventative measure as well as a way to help balance the body when it has broken down and is suffering from chronic illness, such as cancer, stroke, heart attack, or high blood pressure. For example, hawthorn- dried berries, leaves, or flowers- is the primary herb for toning and strengthening the heart and cardiovascular system. It is a very safe internal herb for the heart, and can be used for congestive heart failure and angina, among other conditions. Hawthorn increases blood flow to the heart muscle itself, counteracting death resulting from heart attack, which is from lack of blood flow to the heart. The recommended dosage of hawthorn for those with heart disease is 300-450 milligrams every day. As a preventative measure, 100-150 mg will do. Of course any treatment should be overseen by a qualified doctor well versed with the actions and interactions of herbs, and may be used jointly with conventional medicine. However, many have found herbal treatment to work well enough on its own, when care is being properly directed from a qualified person.

Many conventional drugs used today to treat various illnesses originated from the natural healing properties found in herbs. A good example is aspirin, which was originally derived from willow bark for its salicylic content. Through the years, scientists found ways to isolate beneficial compounds found in medicinal plants and create them synthetically in a lab. This was done for multiple reasons. It was more cost effective, as plants vary in potency depending on where they are grown, as well as the growing conditions, which, when these compounds are simplified and copied, can be controlled. With synthetic production, risk of contamination from wrongly identified plant specimen or even contamination from pesticides and other conditions can also be eliminated. And most important, it was economically advantageous to isolate – and patent – individual components of the medicinal herbs seen as beneficial to combating illness.

However, with the introduction and predominant use of synthetic drugs on the market, other unforeseen issues cropped up. The main drawback to these synthetics is its very unpleasant and frequently dangerous side effects that range from mild allergic reactions to poisoning the body’s systems to the point of shutdown. The culprit is usually the result of synthetic medicines using potent compounds that were initially isolated from plants, but were not copied over in entirety. (Remember the patent approach). A simplified example is vitamin C, which has only recently been found to work incompletely within the body because, among other things, was missing flavonoids. Scientists still are far from having a complete understanding of the human body, and as a result, synthetic medicine can have unforeseen and long-lasting destruction on the body. The best that medicine can be expected to do at this time is manage the effects of disease and illness, with the hope that enough of the negative cells and bacteria are eliminated before the whole body system collapses.

The holistic approach centers on prevention and identifying at-risk areas of health before it becomes a problem. Conventional medicine has become little more than disease management. Conventional medicine may be beneficial for acute injuries, such as a car accident, broken bones, heat stroke, frostbite, and the like; however chronic conditions such as the flu, diabetes, heart disease, and cancer can all benefit from a more holistic approach that incorporates herbal remedies into a regimen of care.

Herbal: Foods for Prostate Health

Prostate cancer is a very scary thought for most men. The idea that every single man, if unencumbered by other diseases, will in his lifetime eventually have either an enlarged prostate or suffer varying degrees of prostate cancer is no secret any more.

The difference now is, we've become a nutritionally advanced culture who has learned more and more about natural supplements and products that can help us achieve and maintain health much longer than we used to, as well as to eat the right foods that will make our organs function at peak levels well into late ages.

Prostate health is no different. There are foods that you can eat that will help keep your walnut-sized prostate gland functioning at peak performance, and in healthy condition for a longer time than if you had a nutritionally lacking diet.

The foods that a man can eat to support the health of your prostate actually have multiple health benefits in addition to prostate health. This is because they are mostly classed into a coined group of foods dubbed "super foods" for their healing and health promoting properties, as well as therapeutic uses.

What are these "super foods" for prostate health you ask? Well, the first one may be a bit surprising for a guy to hear, because this nutrient rich food is usually reserved for female health. It's soy.

The compound derived from the common soybean, which is so many time suggested as a benefit to women's health. Well, some research has shown that soy derived products can also support a man's prostate health as well. Soy is a common ingredient in vegetarian and vegan dishes.

It is used because it is so versatile, and easily absorbs the flavors of other foods, and can easily emulate these foods as well. Soy burgers, soy cheese, and other soy products that taste like meat and poultry have a lot of soy in them, but it's actually best when you get it in the form of the actual soybean or in tofu, because it is not so radically processed at this point.

You can also buy powdered soy genistein, which is actually the active chemical in soy products (not all though) that can be an excellent cancer thwarting agent.

Another good food for prostate health is fruit. This may seem like common sense, but there is a slightly more complex reason that fruits may be good for your prostate. Fruits contain a natural sugar in them which has been found to have a protective effect on the male prostate gland. There is another natural chemical compound in some fruits called lycopene, which has been shown to have very beneficial effects.

This natural nutritionally powerful compound gives fruits and veggies a deep red color, so the deeper the red, the more lycopene it is likely to have. Men who were studied and had diets high in fruits and vegetable rich in lycopene were also found to have less incidence of prostate cancer.

Saw palmetto, an herb that is fairly inexpensive to come by, has long been thought to provide great benefit to men with an enlarged prostate, and to help continue prostate health. Some have refuted this, but nonetheless there is some anecdotal proof out there that men may not want to bypass the likelihood this herb still has great benefit to overall male health, especially prostate health.

As far as foods to avoid to keep the prostate gland in good shape and functioning properly and efficiently, milk has been found to be a possible deterrent to maintaining the health of this important gland.

Perhaps just limiting the consumption of milk or dairy in general would be prudent, especially for men in their older age where every little bit might help. Another possibility would be to replace milk with a milk substitute such as soy milk (kill two birds with one stone).

As long as you maintain a quality diet with a variety of color, less red meats and more fruits and veggies, you can rest assured you are doing all you can to promote a long, healthy and complication free life for your prostate gland. Not only that, these foods will benefit other areas of your health as well, making it well worth your while to pay attention to what you put in your body.

Herbal Tonic Recipe for Prostate Cancer and Prevention

Herbal Tonic Recipe for Prostate
Nearly a quarter-million American men each year are diagnosed with prostate cancer and many more are diagnosed with BPH or Prostatitis; an inflammation of the prostate. Prostate Cancer and Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) used to be diseases of old age and was usually diagnosed around the age of 80. Today, prostate cancer is now being diagnosed in men as young as 55.

Symptoms of prostate cancer and BPH are similar:

Urinary problems including:

Not being able to urinate. Difficulty in starting urination Having a hard time starting or stopping the urine flow. Needing to urinate often, especially at night. Weak flowof urine Urine flow that starts and stops. Pain or burning during urination.

Blood in the urine or semen.

Frequent pain in the lower back, hips, or upper thighs.

Conventional Prostate Cancer Treatment:

Surgery to remove the prostate, surrounding tissue and lymph nodes in the pelvis.

Chemotherapy

Radiation therapy that uses radiation to kill cancer cells or keep them from growing. There are two types of radiation therapy. External radiation therapy uses a machine outside the body to send radiation toward the cancer. Internal radiation therapy uses a radioactive substance sealed in needles, seeds, wires, or catheters that are placed directly into or near the cancer.

Impotence and urinary problems may occur in men treated with radiation therapy.

Hormone therapy used in the treatment of prostate cancer may include the following:

Luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone agonists can prevent the testicles from producing testosterone.

Antiandrogens can block the action of androgens (hormones that promote male sex characteristics).

Orchiectomy is a surgical procedure to remove one or both testicles, the main source of male hormones, to decrease hormone production.

Science Daily on October 10, 2007 reported the risks of hormone therapy — The use of androgen deprivation therapy to treat localized prostate cancer is associated with an increased risk of death from heart disease, according to a study published online October 9 in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute. The use of androgen deprivation therapy can also lead to the development of metabolic syndrome, which increases both the risk of type II diabetes and coronary artery disease.

Alternative Prostate Cancer Treatment:

The October issue of the journal Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers and Prevention suggests that prostate cancer may respond quickly and markedly to significant changes in weight and diet. The report found that dramatically cutting back on dietary fats and carbohydrates actually alters the levels of genes in prostate tissues that can potentially regulate cancer growth.

Strikingly, the changes occurred after four of the men spent just six weeks on a low-fat, low-carb diet, said Dr. Daniel Lin, assistant professor of urology at the University of Washington and the paper's lead author.

I recommend tomatoes and tomato products to help protect against prostate cancer along with fresh organic fruit and vegetables. Brown rice. Vitamin A, D, E and Selenium. Omit dairy products and fatty meats. Add a good herbal tonic to your daily health regime that supports the blood, the kidneys, the immune system, that has anti-inflammatory properties and that balances hormone levels.

Browning’s Male Supreme tonic is an excellent herbal formula for prostate health, for prostate cancer, high PSA levels and BPH. If you are unable to make your own tonic purchase a tonic with similar ingredients.

About the herbs in the Male Supreme tonic:

Astragalus: Research shows it stimulates the immune system in many ways. It increases the number of stem cells in bone marrow and lymph tissue and encourages their development into active immune cells. It appears to help trigger immune cells from a resting state into heightened activity. It also enhances the body's production of immunoglobulin and stimulates macrophages. Astragalus can help activate T-cells and natural killer (NK) cells. In other studies, polysaccharides were shown to potentiate the immune-mediated antitumor activity of interleukin-2 (IL-2) and the activity of monocytes, improve the responses of lymphocytes from normal subjects and cancer patients.

Bloodroot Showing results as an antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, anti-neoplastic, antioxidant, anti-periodontic, anti-plaque, antiseptic, fungicide, and more. Showing promise in fighting cancers

Burdock Root: Burdock root is rich in vitamins, B-complex, E and P. It also contains, in high amounts, chromium, cobalt, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, silicon, zinc, sodium and potassium. In animal experiments, burdock root extracts have been shown to destroy bacteria and fungus cultures, as well as showing strong anti-tumor activity.

Chaparral: Tumor inhibitor. Antibacterial, antiviral, anti-cancer.

Devil’s Claw: An excellent anti-inflammatory. It is also a deep tissue cleanser and healer.

Hydrangea Root: Its primary chemical constituents include glycosides, saponins, resins, rutin, essential oils, and flavonoids. It contains no tannins and is well recognized in the treatment of inflamed or enlarged prostate glands.

Isatis: This herb has the compound indirubin that possesses strong antitumor activity. (can be purchased from 1st Chinese Herbs)

Licorice Root: Anti-inflammatory, anti-hepatotoxic, anti-spasmodic, rejuvenative, sedative, tonic. Phytoestrogens. Antibody production is enhanced by glycyrrhizin, possibly through the production of interleukin.

Pau d’ Arco: For problems like cancer, colitis, cystitis, fungus and prostatitis.

Pygeum: The phytosterols, including beta-sitosterol, have anti-inflammatory effects by interfering with the formation of pro-inflammatory prostaglandins that tend to accumulate in the prostate of men with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). The ferulic esters reduce levels of the hormone prolactin and also block cholesterol in the prostate.

Red Clover: Clinical evidence shows that there is a basis for its long standing tradition in treating any type of cancer and studies looking at the extracts' specific effectiveness against prostate enlargement and prostate cancer have now begun. Phytoestrogens.

Saw Palmetto: The saw palmetto extract prevents testosterone from converting to dihydrotestosterone. It also inhibits DHT from binding to cellular receptor sites and so increases DHT's breakdown and excretion. In several double blind studies Saw Palmetto extract was an effective treatment for BPH. It was found to be superior to finasteride (Proscar). Most patients reported obtaining some relief of symptoms within the first 30 days of the treatment with the Saw Palmetto extract.

Suma: Normalizing influence on your body and can help regulate and enhance your endocrine, nervous, digestive, cardiovascular and immune system. Nutritionally it contains essential vitamins, minerals, amino acids and trace elements plus high amounts of the trace element germanium, which is a powerful immune stimulator. The germanium in Suma may be partly responsible for Suma's powerful ability to bring more oxygen to the cells. The overall effect is to give you an increased resistance to stress while having a cell-building and regenerating effect. Suma is also beneficial for treating cardiovascular disease, depression, chronic fatigue and inflammatory conditions.

Turmeric: In recent studies show promising results on the use of turmeric to treat cancer. Curcumin found in turmeric possesses liver protective activity, detoxifying dangerous carcinogens, stimulating the gall-bladder and acting as a free-radical scavenger.

The dried herbal ingredient amounts you will need make Browning’s Male Supreme:

(Whole herbs are easier to strain than powdered herbs – you can use either)

What cooking tools and other ingredients you will need:

2 stainless steel or glass 20 quart or larger pots with lids. One pot for cooking and one pot for straining liquid into after cooking.

A large strainer.

A candy or water thermometer.

Cheesecloth.

4 gallons of distilled water

32 oz of vegetable glycerin

32 oz of black strap molasses

Citric acid

For bottling you can use regular canning jars. If using pint jars you will need about 24 – 28 jars. If using quart jars you will need about 14 jars. This is a large recipe that will provide one year worth of tonics for the cancer patient, or, if using for a preventative go together with friends or family and share it. You can cut recipe in ½ for a smaller batch.

In pot add:

In 1 pot add astragalus root, bloodroot, burdock root, chaparral, devil’s claw, hydrangea root, isatis, licorice root, pau d’ arco, pygeum, saw palmetto, suma, turmeric and cover with 4 gallons of distilled water. Stir. Cover pot with lid and simmer for about 6 hours.

After simmering for 6 or more hours turn heat to warm/low heat and add the red clover to the above pot and turn heat down to warm to steep (not boil) the herbs like you would a cup of tea. Steep overnight.

The next morning/day strain the liquid from the herbs by laying a couple of layers of cheesecloth over your strainer. Strain liquid into a clean container then heat herbal liquid and bring to a boil for 15 minutes to kill any bacteria.

Compost the strained herbs in your garden.

Then add:

32 oz of vegetable glycerin, 32 oz black strap molasses 4 tablespoons of citric acid

Stir and let the mixture mingle for 15 minutes or so. When ready to bottle use a candy thermometer to check the temperature of the liquid. You want the temperature at 190* to prevent any bacteria to grow in the tonics. Maintain this heat temperature throughout bottling.

While waiting for your liquid to reach the accurate bottling temperature prepare your canning jars. Sterilize jars and lids.

Once your bottles are sterilized and your herbal liquid is at the right temperature add the tonic liquid to the hot jars. Fill to ½” from top of jar and cap. Let cool overnight. Check to make sure all the jars sealed properly the store them. Tonics can be stored for 1 year.

Once you open a jar of tonic for use you must Refrigerate it. The tonic will last for 2 months in the refrigerator once it has been opened. Sediment in the bottom of the jars is normal. Give the jar a little shake or stir to mix the sediment before taking.

How much to take:

Adult Folklore Dosage: 1 Tablespoon 1 time a day for preventative health. 1 Tablespoon 2 times a day for BHP or Prostatitis. 2 Tablespoon 2 times a day for prostate cancer. Refrigerate after opening.

Many Uses of Tea Tree Essential Oil

Tea tree or Melaleuca alternifolia, grows in Australia and is widely used as an antiseptic, antifungal, and in some cases, an antiviral treatment for a number of problems. Used externally, tea tree oil can cure you of many different ailments.

Tea tree oil can cure warts. Place a drop or two of tea tree oil onto a band-aid and apply it to the wart. Keep a band-aid soaked in tea tree on the wart at all times for at least two months. Change the bandage as needed. The wart should start to disappear almost immediately.

Prevent mold by making a spray of vinegar and tea tree oil. Spray it in the affected moldy areas and wipe the area well. A heavier application of tea tree will prevent mold from growing back in the future. Be careful when using tea tree on furniture and textiles.

Use tea tree oil as an antiseptic when treating wounds. Clean the injured area with soap and water, then dry with a clean cloth. Apply tea tree oil and bandage if necessary. Tea tree oil does not burn like alcohol or peroxide.

Tea tree oil can be used to treat second degree burns. Gently wash the burn with soap and water and dry with a clean cloth. Apply tea tree to the affected area and bandage very lightly if necessary. Tea tree will act as an antiseptic and will help burns heal more quickly.

To treat athlete's foot, wipe the affected area twice a day with tea tree oil on a cotton ball until the infection disappears.

Some women use tea tree oil to cure yeast infection. The skin inside the vagina is extremely sensitive, so only a minute amount of tea tree should be used. Douche with a mixture of one drop tea tree oil per one cup of water. You can use this up to three times a day. If the mixture burns or causes irritation, you may be oversensitive to it and should stop using it immediately.

For a wonderfully effective deodorant, mix one part salt and one part baking soda into a fine-misting spray bottle filled with water. Add this mixture until the baking soda and salt will no longer dissolve into the water. Add witch hazel if desired at one teaspoon witch hazel extract to ¼ cup water. Add tea tree oil at four or five drops per ¼ cup water. Shake well before each use.

herbs health: Garlic Allium sativum

Garlic is a member of the onion family and is nature's most versatile medicinal plant. Garlic has been used all over the world for thousands of years for a wide range of conditions. It has been prized since the first records of civilization for its uses in treating wounds, infections, tumors, and intestinal parasites.

Garlic is a member of the onion family and is nature's most versatile medicinal plant. Garlic has been used all over the world for thousands of years for a wide range of conditions. It has been prized since the first records of civilization for its uses in treating wounds, infections, tumors, and intestinal parasites.
Modern scientists in numerous clinical trials have concluded that Garlic lowers cholesterol, lowers blood pressure, thins the blood (which reduces your risk of heart attack and stroke) and fights bacteria like an antibiotic.

Garlic is a potent antioxidant that has been found to inhibit tumor cell formation and is currently being studied by the National Cancer Institute. It may be effective in fighting stomach, skin and colon cancer.

Though it is best know as a culinary herb and vampire retardant, the medicinal benefits and claims for garlic have awarded it the name "Wonder Drug among all herbs".

Modern day research helps explain the broad applications of this "miracle" herb. Garlic bulbs contain the amino acid allicin. When crushed, allicin is released. This chemical element is the component that gives Garlic its strong odor and is responsible for the powerful pharmacological properties of the plant. One medium clove of Garlic can equal the antibacterial action equivalent to 1% penicillin.

Garlic also contains about 0.5% of a volatile oil that is composed of sulfur-containing compounds. Garlic's sulfur compounds, in addition to Selenium and Vitamins A and C containing compounds, make it a potent antioxidant, protecting cell membranes and DNA from damage and disease.

Although Garlic directly attacks bacteria and viruses, it also stimulates the body's natural defenses against foreign invaders. Garlic is reported to be more effective than penicillin against typhus disease, and works well against strep, staph bacteria, and the organisms responsible for cholera, dysentery and enteritis.

It is generally regarded as a preventative measure for colds, flu and other infectious diseases. Furthermore, scientific studies have shown that garlic stimulates the production of the liver's own detoxifying enzymes which neutralize carcinogens and other environmental toxins. It has also been used to rid the body of intestinal parasites and to treat digestive infections.

Researchers have been studying the anti-cancer properties of Garlic since the 1940's. It appears that the herb may prevent cells from turning cancerous by enhancing the body's mechanisms for removing toxic substances. Garlic's phytochemicals are believed to enhance immunity and the National Cancer Institute (January 1992) reported that people who ate the greatest amount of onions and garlic had the lowest incidence of stomach cancer. Other types of cancer have also been reported as lower.

Furthermore, garlic increases the activity of white blood cells and T-helper cells (natural killer cells), the cells that are central to the activity of the entire immune system.

Garlic supplements can improve many of the processes that can lead to cardiovascular disease. Garlic has been used as a blood thinner and anticoagulant to resolve blood clots and improve circulation. It has been shown to lower cholesterol while increasing the level of beneficial HDLs (high-density lipoproteins), the so-called good cholesterol.

Garlic has no side effects like those associated with cholesterol lowering drugs. (Take garlic for at least two or three months, as often in the first month or two cholesterol may actually slightly rise.) In addition, garlic compounds gently lower blood pressure by slowing the production of the body's own blood pressure raising hormones. At least seventeen clinical trials have shown that mild hypertension can be effectively managed with garlic.

Garlic has great value as a long-term dietary supplement, helping to maintain healthy circulation, balance blood sugar and pressure, reduce fat levels in the blood, and improve resistance to infection. It can be taken with conventional antibiotics to support their action and ward off side effects.

Garlic has also been used in treating upper respiratory infections (especially bronchitis), late-onset diabetes, urinary infections, acne, asthma, sinusitis, arthritis, and ulcers.

Part Used: Bulb or as odorless tablets.

herbs health: Bee Pollen

Bee Pollen for health
Bee Pollen contains the male gametes of plants found as small dust pellets in the stamen of flowers. It is gathered from pollen laden bees with a special device placed at the entrance of the hive designed to brush the material from their hind legs.

Bee Pollen has been called nature's perfect food. It is very rich in vitamins and contains almost all known minerals, trace elements, enzymes and amino acids. It contains the essence of every plant from which bees collect pollen, in combination with digestive enzymes from the bees.

Bee pollen is a popular nutritional supplement that builds the immune system and provides energy for the entire body. It contains 35% protein, 55% carbohydrate, 2% fatty acids and 3% minerals and vitamins. It is high in B-complex and vitamins A, C, D, and E. It also contains lecithin, beta-carotene, selenium.

This combination of elements make bee pollen an excellent source of anti-oxidants. Research studies and clinical tests have demonstrated that bee pollen has an immunizing effect, enhances vitality, and can counteract the effects of radiation and chemical toxins.

Used as an immune system builder, Bee Pollen is thought to have the ability to correct body chemistry and eliminate unhealthy conditions. It is considered to have the ability to throw off poisons and toxic materials from the body. Radiation and chemical pollutants are known as the most severe stressors to your immune system. Side effects of radiation treatment decreases the body's production of blood cells and nutrients in the blood.

Bee pollen is rapidly absorbed into the blood stream and stimulates immunological responses. It has proved beneficial for nausea, sleep disorders, and urinary and rectal disorders following radiation treatment.

Athletes often use this supplement to help increase their strength, endurance, energy and speed. Bee pollen aids the body in recovering from exercise, returning breathing and heart rate to normal, and improves endurance for repeat exertion. It provides energy, stamina and strength as well as improving mental and physical reactions.

Those who do taxing mental work also can see benefits from this natural energy food. Bee pollen can relieve brain fatigue and improve alertness. This can increase your capacity for intense concentration and enable longer periods of work without becoming tired. Stress can use up vitamins quickly and bee pollen can relieve stress and anxiety by replacing essential nutrient reserves in the body.

Many people with allergies have found relief by ingesting bee pollen. It reduces the production of histamine which can cause allergic responses such as hay fever. It can strengthen the respiratory system and provide protein that can help the body build a natural defense shield against allergic responses.

Bee pollen has an effect on blood pressure and sexual function. People who suffer from low blood pressure can be subject to deficiencies in the sex glands. Pollen increases blood pressure especially when taken with kelp and may increase hormone levels and sexual strength.

Weight loss also may occur as lecithin, an ingredient in bee pollen, increases the speed calories are burned and stabilizes poor metabolism. It aids in the digestive process and the assimilation of nutrients. Bee pollen may also relieve anemia, cerebral hemorrhage, colitis and constipation.

Reflexology and Massage

The technique

In reflexology, apart from the initial soothing strokes you do not massage the feet; instead, you apply precise pressure with your thumb or forefinger to each specific point. You can use either a static pressure or a "walking" technique, in which you bend and then straighten your thumb to move it forward. Hold the foot firmly with one hand, and work with your other thumb, using the edge of the thumb, just by the nail. Press firmly for about 3 seconds, then move on. Work systematically first on the right foot and then on the left.

Insure life: Will Consumption of Herb Ginkgo Really Affect your Bustline?

Breast enhancement dietary supplements usually contain herbs (like Ginkgo (a.k.a. Gingko Biloba)), with natural estrogenic properties from plant sources (phyto-estrogens) that work by regulating hormones and promote healthy tissue growth.

The herbs found in breast enhancement formulas do not usually contain estrogen or other hormones. However, they do contain hormone-like substances. One common type is called a phyto-estrogen, that can mimic the activity of human hormones such as estrogen or progesterone, or make proper levels of such hormones more available in the body by normalizing glandular and hormonal activity.

One of most commonly used herb in breast enlargement supplement is Ginkgo (a.k.a. Gingko Biloba). Ginkgo tree is one of the oldest trees on Earth. Ginkgo trees may grow to 122 ft (37.2 m) tall and measure 4 ft (1.2 m) in girth. The leaves are bright green in spring and summer, and to golden yellow in the fall. Ginkgo trees may take as long as 30 years

Ginkgo leaves are used to treat allergies, asthma, and bronchitis. Ginkgo helps to increase blood flow throughout the body, particularly cerebral blood flow. The herb is a useful and proven remedy for numerous diseases caused by restricted blood flow.

However, intake of Ginkgo (a.k.a. Gingko Biloba) alone may not be that effective, unless it is combined synergistically with other similar herbs that contain phytoestrogens. And not all phytoestrogens give the same effectiveness to affect your bustline.

So, where can one find the herb that gives the best phytoestrogens? Or does it exist in the first place?

Studies have shown that Pueraria Mirifica as one of the best phytoestrogen you can find. What makes Pueraria Mirifica the best Phytoestrogen? How is it different from Ginkgo (a.k.a. Gingko Biloba)?

Pueraria mirifica is an indigenous herb of Thailand, known in Thai as "Kwao Kreu" or "Kwao Kreu Kao" (White Kwao Kreu). It belongs to the Family Leguminosae, subfamily Papilionoideae or the soy, bean & pea subfamily, The plants are commonly found in abundant in the forests in the north, the west and the northeast of Thailand at the altitude of 300-800 meters above sea level, Active principles in this plant are found in the tuberous root, which looks like chain of round-shaped bulbs of various sizes connected to the next one via small root throughout the entire length of the root. The shape and size of the tuberous root are diverse depending on the environment in which it exists. Its uniqueness lies in the fact that phytoestrogen "Miroestrol" and "Deoxymiroestrol" can only be found in Pueraria Mirifica!

"Miroestrol and Deoxymiroestrol " is very different from other phytoestrogens found in other plants such as Ginkgo (a.k.a. Gingko Biloba). This is the main reason why Pueraria Mirifica is unique from other breast enhancement herbs such as Ginkgo (a.k.a. Gingko Biloba).

Author Yvonne Lee, provides an unbiased pro-and-con analysis of each technique, in addition to practical information such as how and where to get it, cost, and potential impact on insurance coverage.

Life Is Getting Cheaper,insure life.

For insure your life.A great thing happened to the life insurance buying public , the industry switched over to new "Mortality tables" (also referred to as Life Expectancy Tables). This means that the cost of life insurance in the last 5 years has substantially been reduced.

An insurance premium is made up of three basic components:

1. Life Expectancy (How many years you're going to live)
2. Insurance company expenses (Costs of doing business)
3. Insurance company yield on investments

So, when your life expectancy increases, the company can expect to keep getting your annual premium for many more years giving them more money to invest for a longer period of time with the projection that there will be less deaths (money to pay out in death claims) leaving more money available to invest.

This one factor alone has substantially reduced the annual cost of life insurance premiums.

Another factor in the cost of insurance is your health. With the new advances in medicine, people are living longer due to earlier detection of problems and state-of-the-art drugs keeping these problems under control. These advances are making it possible for insurance companies to have more lenient underwriting, further reducing the annual premium cost of your life insurance.

Don't assume you're uninsurable if you have health problems. Hartford Life Insurance Company has lowered the annual premiums for women who have been treated for stage-1 breast cancer and men who have been treated for prostate cancer, been operated on and have a good prognosis. Prudential Insurance Company announced its lowering premiums for people who have been successfully treated for heart disease. Prudential Financial lowered premiums for prostate cancer survivors several years ago, and it recently reduced rates for survivors of breast and bladder cancer, says Mike McFarland, a vice president at Prudential.

Though insurance companies have reduced rates you must shop around. If you're healthy, you still may not qualify for the best rates. If one of your parents suffered from a serious illness at an early age, or if you smoke you won't get the best rates.

On a typical term policy, getting the lowest rate on premiums could save you $100 to $250 a year. Standards for preferred rates vary among insurers. Average annual rates for a 40-year-old non-smoker who buys a $500,000 10 Year Term Life policy with preferred rates since 1994:

1996 $660 - 1998 $515 - 2000 $480
2002 $395 - 2004 $375 - 2006 $352

Don't you think it's time to have your current life insurance policies reviewed?

Remember, Life is Getting Cheaper!

"Miroestrol and Deoxymiroestrol " is very different from other phytoestrogens found in other plants such as Anise (a.k.a. Aniseed). This is the main reason why Pueraria Mirifica is unique from other breast enhancement herbs such as Anise (a.k.a. Aniseed).

Insure life:What are “certified Organic Herbs” ?

Bulk organic herbs are more economical to purchase than buying them in small bottled quantities – and more environmentally friendly to boot! By purchasing your herbs in bulk quantities, you can take advantage of large volume discounts, whether you are a retailer or a consumer of the end product. By purchasing bulk organic herbs in large amounts, you not only save, but ensure that what you need is there whether it’s for customer demand or cooking at home.

What Are “certified organic spices” ?

As consumer awareness increases about food – how it is grown, how far it travels, etc. – the demand for organic bulk herbs and certified organic spices also rises. Meanwhile, as the cost for many standard food items increases to the same level of locally-grown bulk organic herbs, the price of such organic foodstuffs becomes more competitive. But what exactly does “certified” mean?

Certified organic spices and bulk organic herbs are those raised in an ecologically sustainable way, without the kinds of chemical fertilizers or pesticides that can leach into the plant's leaves, roots, stems, flowers or bark, and leave a toxic residue. In addition, farmers who raise organic bulk herbs avoid the potentially destructive practice of monoculture. For instance, large-scale corporate agricultural operations may focus on the cultivation of only one or two products – for example, limiting a particular region to the production of only one or two Chinese herbs, such as a few varieties of ginseng. This practice causes plants to be less resistant to diseases as well as drain the soil of nutrients.

Farmers who raise bulk organic herbs focus on a healthy diversity of crops. This means a smaller supply (one of the reason that organic bulk herbs have been traditionally more expensive than non-organics), but it also means a healthier crop that is of superior quality. In the U.S. organic certification is handled on the state level by local governmental, non-profit and private agencies that have USDA approval. Since 2002, under the National Organic Program, produce such as bulk bath herbs and certified organic spices can only be labeled as such by adhering to specific requirements.

Herbs and Spices for Every Occasion

Chinese herbs are the basis of medication used in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), which Western medical science is starting to examine seriously. Of course, many women (and even men) appreciate a good soak in bulk herbs, and some of these even have therapeutic properties. Between this and the traditional kitchen uses of bulk herbs, it’s easy to see the wisdom in stocking up and keeping a good supply on hand.

Buy bulk organic herbs for the savings, and to insure that you have them on hand when you need them.

Insure life: Advice on Using Medicinal Herbs

Medicinal herbs are those that are used in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Alternative Medical Systems and naturopathy. As drug companies and big pharmaceutical corporations keep increasing the prices of drugs, making them unaffordable to average people, and as concerns about side effects over standard pharmaceuticals rise, people turn to medicinal herbs in order to treat their conditions.

Of course, even prescription drugs are usually derived from both inorganic and organic herbs, and just because bulk herbs are organic and “natural” doesn’t mean that they shouldn’t be used cautiously and with prudence. After all, the heart medication digitalis when administered properly can treat serious heart conditions, but the plant from which it comes – foxglove – will surely have fatal results if taken as an herbal infusion.

Used properly however, there are many organic herbs that can be effective in relieving minor symptoms. Purchasing bulk organic herbs can result in significant savings as well; when you, either as a consumer or retailer buy your herbs in bulk, you are able to take advantage of large quantity discounts on the organic bulk herbs you use and/or sell the most.

For professional naturopaths, purchasing herbs in bulk makes a great deal of sense, especially if you prescribe and administer medicinal herbs frequently. When you use certified organic herbs, you are assuring your patients that the product you are giving them is pure and free of the toxins that work their way into the leaves and stems as the result of using chemical fertilizers and pesticides.

Farmers who produce bulk organic herbs and other produce must be familiar with organic standards, comply with these standards, keep copious written records, and submit to annual inspections. These standards are enforced at the state level, not the federal government however, although the agencies responsible for enforcement are supposed to be approved by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. These requirements, as well as the fact that there is a smaller quantity produced, are what have made bulk organic herbs more expensive than the inorganic variety. However, as the cost of fuel, petroleum-based fertilizers and pesticides increase, locally produced organic bulk herbs should become increasingly competitive in price. Legally, any product that is made from at least 95% organic ingredients can be sold as “organic” and carry the USDA organic seal.

It seems obvious, but bears saying that
medicinal herbs especially should be from organic farmers, containing pesticide-free ingredients. This is what customers are increasingly demanding, and even the large corporate players in agriculture are beginning to pour capital into the production of organic herbs, fruits and vegetables. By insuring that your medicinal herbs are from an organic source, you’ll be ahead to the game.

Protect Your Family With Life Insurance

With recent global financial woes going on it is making some people think about how their family will be looked after should they fall ill or even worse suffer a death. It’s not a nice period when a loved one passes but it can be made all the more stressful and distressing for those left behind.

What everyone wants for their family is that when they die their family is taken care of, hence life insurance. Life insurance will provide a sum of money when a loved one passes away to help with living costs and other costs such as funerals and burials.

But aside from the obvious benefits when the policy holders dies there are a number of benefits for whilst the policy holder is alive too, called “living benefits”. One of these benefits is long-term care expenses. When someone is diagnosed with a terminal illness there is a good chance that the burden of constant care would be too much for other family members so hiring a carer or moving to a care home may be the only option.

The trouble with residential care is that it can run up massive bills, having an insurance policy that covers long-term care can save any future financial disasters. Another feature that people are urged to seek out is an automated premium monitoring program, this would protect the client from unknowingly lapsing a policy. The last thing you’d want is to forget that a payment needed making and finding it too late.

In general when we get a life insurance policy we don’t want to be stressing over its details and what it covers and what it doesn’t. We basically want to be able to live our lives without worrying about how our families are going to be looked after once we’re gone.

It is important to note that different insurance companies have differing levels of payouts and can vary drastically from one company to another, so when getting life insurance make sure you look around and try and get the best cover for you and your family.

North American Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine Day

It is estimated that as many as 43% of Americans have used or are currently using some form of complementary medicine, and that 1 in 10 Americans have tried acupuncture.

As a result of this increasing acceptance of and demand for complementary medicine, October 24 had been named North American Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine Day (NAAOMD). NAAOMD is part of an effort to increase public awareness of the progress, promise, and benefits of acupuncture and Oriental medicine. This day is supported through a unique international partnership of organizations in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The partnership includes professional associations, research organizations, and educational institutions.

Some Striking Statistics:

Nearly one out of every 10 adults in the U.S has tried acupuncture. 60% said they would readily consider acupuncture as a potential treatment option. (National Certification Commission for Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine)

An estimated 36% of U.S. adults use some form of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM). Among the common CAM practices identified by the survey were acupuncture, acupressure, herbal medicine, tai chi and qi gong. (National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine, a component of the National Institutes of Health)

Fifteen percent of hospitals now offer Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) therapies and almost 60% of medical schools offer courses in CAM. (American Hospital Association)

Acupuncture has been cited by the World Health Organization (WHO) to treat over forty-three conditions. The 1997 National Institutes of Health (NIH) Consensus Conference on Acupuncture stated, “The data in support of acupuncture are as strong as those for many accepted Western medical therapies. One of the advantages of acupuncture is that the incidence of adverse effects is substantially lower than that of many drugs or other medial procedures used for the same conditions.” (WHO/NIH)

Acupuncture and Oriental medicine is beneficial for problems such as: pain, arthritis, asthma, upper respiratory conditions, digestive and urinary disorders, insomnia, depression, addictions and more. National Massage Therapy Awareness Week

National Massage Therapy Awareness Week is October 21-27, 2007. Sponsored by the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA), this week is designed to raise public awareness of the benefits of therapeutic massage and encourage people to take the extra time to care for their health through massage

Twenty-five million more Americans each year are getting a massage today than they did ten years ago, according to the American Massage Therapy Association. And with good reason: beyond the relaxation that massage therapy can bring to people, massage can effectively treat a wide array of health problems including back pain, stress, low immune system, circulation, anxiety, high blood pressure, headaches & migraines, carpal tunnel syndrome and depression.

Massage therapy is also one of the most common ways people ease pain. Chronic pain affects about 1 in 6 Americans and is the third leading cause of impairment in the US, after cancer and heart disease. Chronic pain has been said to be the most costly health problem in America; the annual cost of chronic pain, including medical expenses, lost income, and lost productivity, is an estimated $100 billion.

The growth in the popularity and use of massage therapy is increasing the demand for well-trained massage therapists. In 2006 there were nearly 86,000 nationally certified practitioners serving consumers. The demand for therapists continues to rise as more dentists, chiropractors, medical clinics, hospitals, gyms and spas employ these practitioners.

The American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (ACTCM), a non-profit institution located in San Francisco, has provided affordable, quality health care to the public and trained professionals in massage and Chinese medicine since 1980. The college offers classes and certification in Tui Na and Shiatsu, two types of Asian massage therapy. ACTCM also offers an affordable massage and acupuncture clinic open to the public, allowing clients to experience the health benefits of massage first hand.

For those interested in learning more about Asian massage and traditional Chinese medicine, ACTCM will be hosting free Open Houses on October 6th, November 3rd and December 1st from 1 – 4 pm. Guests will be invited to listen to presentations on traditional Chinese medicine, take a tour of the campus, speak with students and faculty, and arrange to sit in on a class or receive a treatment in the College’s Community Clinic.

ACTCM has been the recipient of many awards for its curriculum, faculty and clinic, and has been voted “Best of the Bay” by both the San Francisco Weekly and the San Francisco Bay Guardian.

For more information on National Massage Therapy Awareness Week, or ACTCM’s massage programs and clinic, please call the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine at (415) 355-1601 x12.

Some Striking Statistics:

39 million American adults – more than one out of every 6 – receive a massage annually. This is 25 million more Americans each year than just 10 years ago.26 percent of massage users seek the therapy for relaxation, while 30 percent use it for medical purposes such as injury recovery, pain reduction, headache control, and overall health and wellness.

Nine million more people discussed massage therapy with their doctor or healthcare provider in 2006 than in 2001.59 percent of physicians, 48% of all chiropractors and 47% of physical therapists have recommended massage therapy to their patients.

Seventy-nine percent of 25- to 35-year-olds would like to have their health insurance plan cover massage, the highest percentage among age groups; 63 percent of Americans would be more inclined to try massage therapy if it was offered in conjunction with other healthcare treatments.

Older baby boomers (ages 55 to 64) have tripled their use of massage over the past 10 years, as did those ages 65 and older.

Companies that offer massage therapy as an employee benefit include: Allstate, Best Buy, Cisco Systems, FedEx, Gannett (USA Today)General Electric, Hewlett-Packard, Home Depot, JC Penney, Kimberly-Clark, Texas Instruments, U.S. Department of Justice and Yahoo.

Massage may be the oldest form of medical care – Egyptian tomb paintings show people being massaged, and “The Yellow Emperor’s Classic of Internal Medicine” written in 2,700 BC recommended the “massage of skin and flesh”.

Herbal Colon Cleans

Colon cleansing uses natural health & herbs to help your body to heal health problems which are often related to a colon which is not functioning as nature intended.

More and more people are suffering from health problems, including pain, constipation and lack of energy which can be related to a dirty bowel.

The most important cleanse to do is colon cleansing, because if you have a dirty colon with impacted fecal matter, this will create extra toxins which the other organs then have to continually cleanse and detox.

The #1 CANCER AMONG MEN AND WOMEN TOGETHER IS COLON CANCER.

The person on a typical Western Diet holds 8 meals of undigested food and waste material in the colon. Everyone would greatly benefit with doing a full Colon Cleanse at least once per year, with ongoing colon maintenance when necessary.

It is recommended that Parasite Cleanse be taken at the same time as the Colon Cleanse. For optimum health, our objective should be to cleanse not only the colon, but all of the vital inner organs as well.

One of the most frequent bowel problems that people experience today is constipation.

Constipation is generally attributed to a low fiber diet and lack of sufficient water, which cause our fecal matter to become condensed and compressed.

A good cleansing program should always begin by removing the waste in your colon, the last portion of your food processing chain. If you attempt to clean your liver, blood, or lymph system without first addressing a waste filled bowel, the excreted toxins will only get recycled back into your body.

The longer your body is exposed to putrefying food in your intestines, the greater the risk of developing disease. Even with one bowel movement per day, you will still have at least three meals worth of waste matter putrefying in your colon at all times. On top of all this, your system can also become continuously self-polluting by the poisonous gases that are caused by foods you don't tolerate. These poisonous gases can enter your bloodstream, irritating your organs and joints.

Bran and raw vegetables are so rich in fibrous bulk that they cannot get through the tiny holes remaining for passage of feces in most colons. Instead they back up, fester and contribute further to the problem. There is only one good way to clean yourself out and that is by cleansing your colon.

Herbal Cleansing Herbal colon cleansing may decrease the risks of developing certain health problems.

Many people who are affected by a health condition have found that cleansing can help their body rejuvenate itself naturally. The body's immune system is the first line of defense against almost all infections and diseases. If your body has a strong immune system you will be less prone to infection. The immune system is made up of a vast system of lymphatic channels and lymph nodes. Detoxing your body and your colon with the right herbs and supplements is an all natural way to remove unwanted toxins and heavy metals from lymphatic system improving the overall immune system.

Toxins from air, food and water tend to accumulate in your body over time. Your liver, colon, small intestines, pancreas, kidneys, gallbladder, spleen and lymph nodes work in harmony and in balance to eliminate these toxins.

Cleansing with Fibre Fibre plays an essential role in maintaining the health of the digestive system, and adequate fibre in the diet has significant value in the prevention of cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes and other ailments. Fibre cleanses the digestive tract and enhances its function. Metabolised by intestinal bacteria into substances that prevent colon cancer, fibre dilutes and speeds the removal of carcinogens and other toxins in foods so that they spare the delicate lining of the GI tract. Fibre helps achieve optimal blood sugar control and cholesterol levels by slowing digestion and maximising cholesterol excretion.
