Hawthorn Herb Information and health Benefits

Hawthorn Herb Information and more Hawthorn Herb for health Benefits

Hawthorn
The berries of this flowering shrub are best used for the heart, says McQuade-Crawford. Hawthorn aids the heart’s pumping action by opening the coronary arteries to nourish the heart muscle. The herb can also slow a rapid heart rate and strengthen a failing heart. Hawthorn usually lowers high blood pressure, especially a raised diastolic high blood pressure, and it benefits low blood pressure due to weak heart muscles with arrhythmia (irregular heart rhythm).

Hawthorn takes a long time to do its best six months or longer. In the style of a true herbal tonic, it can be taken safely and effectively over time for its best effects,” notes McQuade-Crawford.

Hawthorn is a common, thorny shrub that grows up to five feet tall on hillsides and in sunny wooded areas of North America, Europe, Western Asia, and North Africa. The Hawthorn plant produces small berries, called haws, which sprout each May after the flowers of the hawthorn plant bloom. Hawthorn berries are usually red when ripe, but may be much darker. Hawthorn leaves, while usually shiny, may grow in a variety of shapes and sizes.

Bioflavonoid complexes (including oligomeric procyanidins (OPCs), vitexin, quercetin, and hyperoside) found in the leaves, flowers, and berries of hawthorn are believed to be responsible for the herbs positive health benefits. Hawthorn is well know for the cardiac benefits it provides, including improved coronary artery blood flow as well as improved blood flow in the extremeties. Hawthorn may also be helpful when used in connection with other conditions such as angina, atherosclerosis, hypertension, and some arrhythmias. It is believed by some professionals that chemicals in hawthorn may act directly on the heart muscle to increase the force of heartbeats and to relax the arteries around the heart. Hawthorn may also work indirectly by widening blood vessels close to the surface of the skin. As a result, it may assist in stabilizing blood pressure.

Based on evidence provided by clinical trials it has been confirmed that hawthorn extracts benefit individuals with early-state congestive heart failure.

In recent animal studies, results indicated that hawthorn herb may be able to lower cholesterol levels by reducing the production of cholesterol and by augmenting the body's ability to breakdown cholesterol. An additional human study also produced similar cholesterol-lowering results, but evidence is still lacking to verify the validity or applicability of these results.

Many of the active contituents found in hawthorn exhibit potent antioxidant properties.

Dosage and Administration of Hawthorn Herb

Hawthorn products standardized to contain either 4 to 20 mg flavonoids/30 to 160 mg oligomeric procyanidins, or 1.8 vitexin rhamnoside/10 procyanidins, are recommended. When supplementing with hawthorn make sure to follow the manufacturer's recommendations.

Hawthorn herbs for heart failure or angina may require at least six weeks of use, three times per day before an effect is noticed.

Precautions and Side Effects of Hawthorn Herb

Most researchers are in agreement that hawthorn is a relatively safe herb. Notwithstanding, it is always recommended to follow recommended dosages or consult with a doctor before taking any supplement.

Okra herbs, Clemson Spineless Okra

The Clemson Spineless Okra
Okra benefites
Okra is a green vegetable, that will grow readily in many climates. Its a long and tapered pod shaped vegetable. When cut open, it will reveal multiple rows of seeds, and a somewhat wet gooey touch to the fingers. Actually a member of the cotton family of plants, Okra was originally found growing in warm climates like North Africa, and the Middle East.

Okra is a plant of many uses. It can often be found in different gumbos and is a wonderful source of vitamin A whether it's canned, fried, steamed, roasted or grilled.

A hardy plant that propagates quite readily, and tastes delicious in either Indian curry or stir frys. Personally, I really like stir frys and curry either separately or in combination. A little stir fry has got to be one of the more interesting foods you can eat. Usually packed with vegetables, and a little of your favorite meat. Course if you lean more towards the vegan side, you can always substitute tofu into the stir fry. It's even healthier, and bound to satisfy the animal lover in you.

Okra

Okra

But in combination, as an Indian Curry Stir Fry would be my favorite. Our at home menu tends to lean a little towards the bland side, as the kids out number the parents 3 to 2, and they won't touch the spicy stuff. And curry is definitely one of spicier spices. My love for it must be something to do with the Indian nuns I had as teachers and family friends that loved to cook with curry. I spent a year or so consulting in Toronto, with a couple of east Indian friends, and they always knew the best places for lunch. Definitely got my fill of curry, tandori and other Indian spices that year.
Clemson Spineless Okra

Clemson Spineless Okra would go great with any of those dishes or spices. Be sure to check out that link for a video recipe with Okra, your gonna love. Barring that, check out my blog entry on Clemson Spineless Okra for more info.

Colon Cleansing Benefits - Important Details about Colon Cleansing Benefits by MICHELLE TAFT

The benefits of colon cleansing are becoming more apparent with each passing year. More doctors and health care professionals are beginning to see that colon cleansing benefits are real, documented, and are positively impacting their patients overall health.
The benefits of colon cleansing are wide reaching. Many people who have undergone a colon cleansing report improved bowel function, clearer skin, improved mood, an increase in energy, an improved immune system which results in less frequent illness, and a decrease in tension and headaches.

The colon cleansing benefits described above are achieved by flushing accumulated toxins from the colon. Over time the colon collects debris from the material that passes through it during the digestive process. It cannot expel all of the material that is collected there and this results in the unhealthy build up of waste material.

There are many options to choose from when deciding on which product will offer you the colon cleansing benefits you seek, but be sure to look into the all natural ones first. There is no reason to introduce harsh chemicals into the very system you are trying to cleanse.

Most all natural colon cleansing options will contain an ingredient called psyllium husk. This is derived from a plant that has been proven to cleanse the colon and improve overall digestive health. The psyllium husk is not broken down by the digestive juices in the stomach so when it passes through the colon it acts as a broom sweeping the accumulated debris out in front of it as it passes through the digestive system.

Colon cleansing benefits have been well documented and there have been no risks proven to be associated with colon cleansing. the fact of the matter is that colon cleansing has been common practice in certain parts of the world for centuries and western medicine is just beginning to understand the benefits of regular colon cleansing. Discover more colon cleansing benefits at http://www.ColonCleansingAnswers.com today.

Treatment Of Different Acne Scars

Dealing with acne can be very painful physically. Having residual scarring from it can be a condition that can cause emotional pain. The effect it can cause may hinder the social life of the individual by keeping them from going out in public.
There are many acne scarring treatments that can help to reduce the look of these scars or remove them completely. Before you decide which treatment is right for you talk to your dermatologist and discuss each one with them. Make sure that you are aware of all the risks.

Dermabrasion was created to specifically treat acne scars. It has the ability to reach the layers deep underneath the skin and is more effective than most other treatments. This procedure even has the ability to treat some of the more deeper scars that are harder to get rid of.

Chemical Peels is better to use on patients with smaller and more depressed scars as well as a few larger ones. Doing one peel may not be enough if you have extensive damage. Many people find that they need repeated treatments of chemical peels in order to fix the scars. Unfortunately it is not effective on ice pick and deep fibrotic scars.

Soft Tissue Augmentation helps to fix atrophic scarring. During this treatment injections of collagen or subcutaneous fat is placed underneath the scars. This helps to raise them up to the surface and make them blend into the skin around the face. You may need this treatment more than once.

Laser Scarring Treatment is much more advanced and newer. There are different lasers that are used to treat different with types of face acne scars. Deep tissue penetration of YAG lasers are used by doctors to “sculpt” scars that are irregular. An laser with an infrared beam is used to help tighten collagen fibers in the skin and to raise scars that are depressed.

Steroid Injections are a treatment that will inject steroids into keloid scars. Usually intralesional injection is mixed together with surgery in order to reduce the size of certain scars in certain patients. Only dermatologist surgeons should use keloid surgeries.

Three Essential Health Tests

Oral Glucose-Tolerance Test
With this test, you'll find out if you're one of the too many men out there with undiagnosed diabetes. Unlike a standard fasting blood-sugar check, the tolerance test stresses your metabolism to see how your body handles a glucose load.

How it's done

After a night of fasting and a morning glucose drink, your blood is drawn several times over three hours. A result higher than 11 mmol/l at the two-hour mark is trouble. Before you turn to drugs, talk to your doctor about overhauling your eating and exercise habits.

C-Reactive Protein (CRP) Test

A high CRP level is a sign of arterial inflammation, your body's ‘Heart Attack Ahead’ billboard. Research published in the New England Journal of Medicine reveals that men with the highest CRP numbers have three times greater odds of infarction than those with low levels.

How it's done

Just offer up your arm. If the result is higher than five milligrams per liter, dish up the fiber: a study in the Archives of Internal Medicine states that consuming 30g of fiber daily can slash your CRP by 40 percent.

Mole Mapping

Australia has the highest skin-cancer rate in the world, so it's a good idea to go for a mole check once a year to catch any developing melanomas (dangerous skin tumors) early. Mole mapping involves taking a digital photo of your skin - while at the same time taking a closer look at any moles that look suspicious - and plotting the location of any moles on a computer. Then, when you return a year later, a second mole map will reveal any new growths - which are the ones to really worry about. If you have 50 moles on your back there's no way you're going to know if you suddenly have 51. Current technology allows us to assess the state of the skin without having to do unnecessary biopsies.

How it's done.

Most general practitioners don't have the equipment, so you'll need a dermatologist. As for the actual photo shoot, all you have to do is strip.

Goldenseal , Nice Herbs

Goldenseal (Hydrastis Canadensis, Yellow Root, Ground Raspberry, Wild Tumeric.) This lovely woodland plant native to the hardwood forests of the US was found originally as far North as Wisconsin and Vermont and as far south as Georgia and Alabama. Some wild stands of Goldenseal still exist in these areas, but due to increased popularity in the herb trade, plants in the wild are now endangered due to over-harvesting and urban sprawl, overtaking habitat.

There are numerous growers around the country who are now cultivating Goldenseal both in woodland settings or in large field production under shade cloth. It is considered essential to the preservation of this plant to use only Goldenseal root that has been cultivated rather than wild Harvested.

As backyard herb growers, Goldenseal is one of the easiest of the woodland herbs to cultivate in a shade garden setting. The lovely green palmate leaves unfurl in early spring and soon the small white flowers appear.

Eventually, each plant produces its red raspberry-like seed which is very striking as the foliage yellows the seed ripens. The plants will spread by their roots and eventually form a crowded mat. The distinctive yellow root is harvested in late Fall after the foliage dies back. Usually plants reach a harvestable size by 4 to 6 years old.

Although Goldenseal is quite drought tolerant once established some watering the first few years especially in dry Summer climates helps the process along. A deep mulch of hardwood leaves or chips is ideal. The plants must be protected from slugs and snails when they first emerge in the spring.

Several Native American tribes used Goldenseal root as an important medicinal. The Iroquois used it for coughs, digestive upset and pneumonia. The Cherokee used Goldenseal for snake bites, as a tonic herb and as a anti-microbial wash for wounds. The early American Pioneers also used Goldenseal as an antiseptic, a digestive and a respiratory herb and by the 1860's, the wild harvested root was in high demand.

Goldenseal has continued to be one of the most popular western herbs for many years and is an integral ingredient in many of the herbal formulas of the 19th and 20th century. The Yellow root is rich in berberine and hydrastine and is one of the best herbal remedies for all issues involving mucous membranes from sinus infections to ear Infections to pink-eye.

Goldenseal is also an excellent digestive bitter stimulating bile production and helping stomach upset. Used topically it is an excellent antiseptic for wounds and skin infections of all kinds.

An essential for the herbalists medicine chest, Goldenseal is an officially endangered plant in the wild and is in need of preservation. There are other analog herbs which are similar to Goldenseal medicinally, but Goldenseal is a unique and powerful medicine and your homegrown fresh Goldenseal roots will be a medicinal treasure to work with. Certain other diseases like gallbladder disease, allergies, skin cancer and high cholesterol are felt to be helped by using milk thistle herb.

Interestingly, practitioners of modern healthcare provide an injectable type of milk thistle for those who have ingested certain poisonous mushrooms. The extract of milk thistle has been a part of a research study looking into using milk thistle to diminish the liver damage in people who've undergone chemotherapy. Herbs For Menopause Can be Safe and Effective, good health

Are you wondering if herbs for menopause are safe and effective? A lot of women in menopause are looking for a way to avoid HRT because they are concerned about the risks and side effects. Fortunately, there are many herbs for menopause symptoms, including hot flashes, bloating, high blood pressure, insomnia and more.

Herbs for menopause will affect you differently than drugs. If you are used to drugs, you will find herbs to have more subtle effects. Some herbs will give you relief immediately, while some can take two to three months to notice a change.

Herbs for menopause can be used to balance your hormones, support your liver in doing all the extra work it has to do during the Change, recalibrate your stress response, and boost your nutritional intake.

Here are just a few examples of some symptoms of menopause and some herbs that can help:

Bloating, digestive problems - Gentian is a very bitter herb. It will help get your stomach juices flowing if you take it ten to fifteen minutes before eating. This can help with bloating and indigestion. You have to taste it for it to work, so you need to take it in tincture form. Ginger is an excellent herb for digestion. You can drink a decoction made from simmering a few slices of root in water for about twenty minutes, or use the tincture. Blue vervain and scullcap are two herbs that are relaxing and will help your digestive system to relax, which is when it works best. It shuts down under stress, so if you are under stress, these are a couple of good herbs to try.

Heart health - Heart health becomes very important during this time. If you have been exercising regularly and eating a heart-healthy diet (it may not be what you think – see http://www.natural-approaches-to-menopause.com/menopuase-diets.html for more info), you're ahead of the game. If not, there is no better time to start. Some herbs that can help with heart health are lemon balm, motherwort, and hawthorn.

High blood pressure - High blood pressure often arrives along with menopause. I had blood pressure ov 120 over 80 for years, but once I it menopause, it went sky high. Blue vervain, dandelion, garlic, ginseng, hawthorn, motherwort, nettles, and passionflower can all help with blood pressure. Blue vervain, motherwort and passionflower help by relaxing you. Dandelion supports your liver. Hawthorn is an excellent herb for overall heart health. Ginseng helps your body adapt to stress. Nettles is full of heart-nourishing minerals.

Hormone balancing - Pre menopause and menopause are times when you can easily lose your hormone balance. Hormones affected are adrenal, thyroid, progesterone and estrogen. Dong quai, ginseng, wild yam and vitex (chasteberry) are helpful for these conditions.

Hot flashes, night sweats – Often herbs in combination work best for hot flashes. You can try a combination of black cohosh, dong quai and wild yam. Maca root has worked for many women. Other herbs that work for hot flashes include chasteberry, and motherwort.

Insomnia – Blue vervain, chamomile, hops, motherwort, passionflower, and valerian are all helpful for getting you to sleep and helping you to stay asleep. Chamomile can be infused (pour boiling hot water over the dried leaves, cover and let steep for 2-4 hours) and drunk throughout the day. The other herbs can be used in tincture form.

The best way to take herbs is by drinking infusions (like a tea, only much stronger) or a few drops of tincture or extract several times a day. You can take them with or without food. Capsules are okay if you just can't stand the taste of a tincture, but you won't get the benefits of an infusion in a capsule.

If you're looking for a way to avoid hormone replacement therapy, or even just looking for some natural ways to work with your symptoms, herbs for menopause can be safe and effective.

It has a single thick, woody stem like a trunk, and the leaves appear palmately, in the form of five pointed leaves which splay out like the fingers of a hand. The leaves, root, flowers, and seeds of lagundi all appear to have medicinal values.

The use of five-leaved chaste tree for medicinal purposes has been known for a long time in China, Korea, Japan, Indonesia, Philippines and other Asian countries. Today, pharmaceutical companies in Japan are importing wild vitex negundo from Philippines. The root is reported to be tonic, febrifuge, and expectorant. The root is also used in a great variety of diseases: dyspepsia, colic, rheumatism, worms, boils, and leprosy. The flowers are used in diarrhea, cholera, fever, and diseases of the liver, and are also recommended as a cardiac tonic. The seeds make a cooling medicine for skin diseases and leprosy, and for inflammation of the mouth. The leaves are used as a tea for conditions like coughs and asthma.

Preparations of lagundi have been used for a wide variety of complaints traditionally, although scientific research has concentrated on its use for respiratory complaints. Lagundi is generally accepted in the Philippines to be useful for coughs, asthma symptoms, and other respiratory problems, and the Philippine government actively promotes it as an alternative to Western cough medicines. Some doctors also prescribe lagundi to assist in the treatment of asthma, as regular doses appear to reduce the strength of asthma attacks.

As an analgesic, lagundi also appears to have some efficacy. It has been compared to drugs like aspirin in trials which show that lagundi may be useful in the treatment of things like pain after dental extractions. Some people like to take lagundi before going in for extractions, in an attempt to pre-empt the associated pain and discomfort.

Lagundi is prepared by boiling it, steeping it, and then straining it. At home, people make lagundi teas from the leaves, often producing a large amount and bottling the excess to use later. Commercially, lagundi can be purchased in the form of syrup or capsules to make it easier to handle. It is also blended in with cough medicines and other herbal remedies.

As with other herbal medicines, lagundi should not be taken without consulting a doctor, as it may potentially conflict with other medications or it may be contraindicated for a particular condition. If your doctor is resistant to herbal treatments, you may want to seek out a practitioner who supports complementary medicine so that you can get sound advice about whether or not lagundi is safe for you.

Case Histories in Clients who use Lagundi:

The woman who stopped breathing
Margaret was shopping with her husband at a Mall and suddenly a woman wearing heavy perfume walked by. The perfume caused an acute asthma attack and at that time, Margaret had no enzymes with her. Her husband quickly opened up one cap of Lagundi, added it to water and gave it to his wife. She swished it around in her mouth and then swallowed it. In just three minutes, Margaret could breathe. He gave her a second cap. In ten minutes she could walk. She has not been to the emergency room since Lagundi.

The woman who had a bad day
A friend of Margaret came to visit with her three inhalers. A life-long asthmatic, she was having a bad day and could hardly breathe. Margaret quickly gave her two caps of Lagundi. Within five minutes, her friend was breathing more steadily. Within 15 minutes, she had stopped wheezing.

The woman who had a sudden and unexpected attack
I had an acute asthma attack. I took 4 caps of Lagundi and within 10 minutes, I was breathing normally. This stuff is great. KN, Worcester, MA

The client who couldn’t breathe or smell
I have asthma and sinusitis. My results with Lagundi were positive. It saved my life. I do not have to use antibiotics or prednisone anymore. AB, Redwood City, California

The woman who had major sinusitis

I really think Lagundi has made a major difference in my overall sinusitis, congestion and general shortness of breath. In addition, my therapist’s work indicated that Lagundi was supplying me with minerals my body needed, for support of the immune system and for the body generally. I believe the Lagundi also mitigated the effects of a bad cold I got, just as I started using Lagundi. Using Lagundi twice daily seems to be enough now. If I take too much, I get slightly nauseous. I love the stuff and I hope others have the positive results that I have had. Bless you all and thank you. I am beginning to feel healthy for the first time in many years. PH, Sebastopol, CA

The man who got the flu
I have a friend whom I visited. When I arrived, he was flat on his back, feeling very sick, with a high fever and sore throat. I gave him 3 Lagundi. Within one hour, the fever was gone and he got up and fixed dinner for me. After dinner, I gave him 3 more Lagundi. He continued Lagundi for two more days and the flu never took hold. SM, Cottage Grove, OR

The woman who prevented getting the flu

I woke up one morning with a sore throat feeling like I was coming down with the flu. I didn’t want to miss school so I took 3 Lagundi plus SvG (for a sore throat) plus my regular enzymes, which include Kdy, TRMA, as well as Citricidal. I also took come Colostrum Caps. I took these supplements 3 times daily. Never once did I have to lie down and I didn’t miss any school. VF, Eugene, OR

Health Benefits of Vegetarian

This Vegetarian Food Guide is designed to reflect healthy patterns of dietary intake that are not only adequate but promote optimal health. This proposed document is meant to provide a range of portions and a general sense of frequency of servings. Its purpose also includes the promotion of an ongoing discussion among scientists and health-care practitioners, as well as vegetarians coming from different traditions, with the purpose of developing and refining a food guide that promotes optimal health.
Typically, food guides have translated nutritional standards into recommendations for daily food intake in an attempt to meet specific nutritional standards.

These standards have traditionally been based on experimental data involving non-vegetarian subjects and have been targeted to the general, non-vegetarian population. In contrast, we believe that studies relating to the dietary patterns of vegetarian populations who enjoy optimal health are valuable and valid sources of information, and can be used in developing a model of healthful eating.
A vegetarian diet can be very healthy, but it is not inherently so. Just cutting meat out of your meals does not automatically assure you all the benefits of the vegetarian diet - in order to be healthy, you need to eat healthy food, vegetarian or not.
The first and most important characteristic of a healthy vegetarian or other type of diet is a wide variety of food. Eating lots of different foods ensures that you get the nutrition you need and that no single food serves as your sole source of a given nutrient. In addition, eating too much of a single food can cause your body to develop sensitivity to that food, which can eventually lead to an allergy. The vegetarian food pyramid, created by researchers at Arizona State University, provides guidelines to the daily amounts of different foods needed for a healthy vegetarian diet.

Effects Of Tomato Pulp On Facial Skin

Effects Of Tomato Pulp On Facial Skin

Dandruff can be an embarrassing problem for anyone at any point of their life. Millions of people suffer from dandruff, which is considered a chronic scalp disorder. The main symptom of dandruff is an itchy, flaky scalp. If you have dandruff, you will likely notice excess white flakes in your hair or on your shirt throughout the day. Although it is annoying and humiliating, you can control your condition with a few helpful tips.

If you have mild dandruff, the answer to your problem may simply be finding a good shampoo. There are many dandruff shampoos on the market that are great at controlling mild dandruff. Just pick one up at the store and give it a try. If you see no improvement in at least two weeks, try another variety. If you still see no improvement, try a shampoo with a tar extract in it. This is particularly helpful to dry scalp conditions. They do not smell as great as regular shampoos, but they will get the job done. You may also find that tar shampoos are a bit more expensive, but they are worth the extra cost.

There are a few behavioral steps you can take to control your dandruff. Researchers have found that stress is a major factor in many conditions, including dandruff. If you are experiencing dandruff, take a look at your life and your schedule. If you can do anything in your schedule to lessen your stress load, then by all means, do so. Not only will your dandruff likely improve, but you will probably feel better as a whole.

Many people are confused about dandruff. Some may think that dandruff occurs because you shampoo your hair too often. The opposite is true however, especially if your scalp is oily. Oily scalps need to be shampooed often to remove any excess oil. The excess oil may make your dandruff problem even worse. Be sure to use your dandruff shampoo when you wash your hair and you will see a great improvement.

Styling products are often the cause of oily scalps. They tend to build up on your scalp, causing the scalp to produce excess oil. Hair spray, waxes, gel, and mousse are all to blame in this case. If you are experiencing dandruff, try cutting back on your usage of these products. You could even be having an allergic reaction to these products that is taking a form similar to dandruff.

One thing that may trigger dandruff is taking really hot showers. If you have any type of skin problem, you should keep your showers moderate in temperature. Hot water tends to cause the body to dry out or produce more oil to compensate, which are two problems associated with dandruff.

New studies are showing that natural sunlight may be good for dandruff. Researchers warn that you still should not spend a great deal of time in the sun, due to its cancerous waves. You should simply spend short amounts of time with your scalp getting exposure. Not only will the sun help your dandruff but it will provide the Vitamin D your body needs to keep you happy.

If none of these tips help control your dandruff there are a few things you can do. First, schedule a visit with your general practitioner. He or she will access your condition and may even prescribe a prescription treatment for your dandruff. The doctor will likely only do so if your dandruff is moderate or severe. Most of the time the prescription is a shampoo or a scalp wash. Your doctor may decide to refer you to a dermatologist however. The dermatologist will likely diagnosis you with dandruff and may or may not take a sample. The sample may be sent off to confirm you have dandruff instead of an allergic reaction to something else.

7 Essential Oils to Thicken Hair

Hair, which is regarded as a woman's biggest asset needs a lot of care and tending to. Healthy hair is a reflection of a balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle. Today our hair needs more care and attention since it is exposed to harsh chemicals. Our hair is much like our skin in its acidity level; frequent washing with an alkaline shampoo disturbs the acid balance and can damage healthy hair. It's best to use a mild pH balance shampoo. There are many factors that contributes to hair destruction like:

Environmental factors like sun exposure, wind, toxins and pollutants. Over sun exposure can cause the hair to become brittle, dry and discolored.
Hair colors, streaking, highlights, hair sprays, hair waving and straightening, chemicals in our water.
Heated rollers, curling irons, dryers, hot combs, and hair blowers have damaging effects.
Poor scalp circulation, harsh hair sprays, improper rinsing of shampoos or conditioners, not enough brushing of scalp, harsh chemicals, allergies to hair care products, a deficiency in fat soluble vitamins causes dandruff.

In order to overcome all these factors our hair needs some special care which can be achieved with the help of essential oils. There are 7 essential oils to thicken hair.

Essential oils like chamomile, lavender and ylang ylang can be used individually or as a combination for dry and brittle hair. Massaging the hair with approximately 20 drops of olive oil, jojoba, peachnut and sunflower is also helpful.
Using 3 - 5 drops of lavender, rosemary or geranium in un-perfumed shampoo per washing and massaging the scalp with 20 drops of rosemary, chamomile, geranium, cedarwood or lavender is recommended either individually or in a combination with virgin olive oil for the removal of dandruff.
Adding the essential oil of Bergamont, cedarwood, frankincense, lavender or rosemary in combination or individually to your shampoo will help to reduce the over secretion of sebum thus reducing the oily-ness of hair. Also spray hair daily with rosemary hydrosol.
For chemically or environmentally damaged hair add 2 - 3 drops of rosemary or patchouli to your conditioner after shampooing and leave in hair for 3 - 5 minutes. Add up to 20 drops per 50 ml bottle of olive oil of lavender, rosemary, sandalwood or patchouli to improve luster, finish and strength of hair fibers. These recommended oils could be used in a combination or individually.
For fine hair weekly hair treatment with recommended oils of lavender, rosemary, ylang ylang, patchouli should be taken individually or in combination. 20 drops of essential oil in 50 ml of castor oil or sweet almond oil will also do. After applying these oils wrap the hair in a towel and leave in for approximately one hour.
A blend of six drops each of lavender and bay essential oils in a base of four ounces of either almond, soybean or sesame oil massaged into the scalp and allowed to sit for 20 minutes has been used to stimulate the scalp. Once the mixture is in the scalp for 20 minutes, wash your hair and scalp with your normal shampoo mixed with three drops of bay essential oil. Massaging the scalp in general for a couple of minutes a day can stimulate blood flow to the hair follicles and in mild cases stimulate some hair growth.
Rosemary hydrosol, which is one of the 7 essential oils to thicken hair, helps to condition the hair. It's recommended for all hair types and is a easy, naturally healthy way to improve the shimmer of your hair. Hydrosols are easy to apply. Simply mist the hair daily with the hydrosol and let it do the rest.
Jojoba oil is great for hypoallergenic skin and helps to promote hair growth and the control of dandruff by being a great moisturizer and mimicking the scalps own sebum. It absorbs readily into the scalp and helps remove deposits of sebum from the hair follicles, neutralizes acidity, and nourishes the scalp with all the B vitamins, vitamin E, silicon, copper, zinc, chromium, and iodine.
These were recommended 7 essential oils to thicken hair, which are without any side effects. Regular use of these oils definitely results in thick and smooth hair.
